A true story from my local grocery store, not necessarily funny, perhaps a little scary. A scientist; clearly mad of course. Buttons that actually do something, and can make you laugh (no placebo guaranteed). And of course: Dilbert

Dilbert.com

A while ago, a girl in front of me at the grocery store was buying a kind of pudding / dessert. When the item was scanned at the register, the machine started beeping. The employee looked startled, and quickly called over a co-worker. They both looked at the screen with interest. Then one said to the other: Go take them all away! He then calmly looked back at the customer, continued to scan in her groceries, and never mentioned the forbidden item again. I really wonder what was wrong with it.

Press button, recive fun

This page, Instantsfun, has lots of nice buttons. When you push them, they make a sound. Some times, the sound is funny. GO - PUSH! The next time I'm hosting a competition of some sort, I'm going to have this up for sound effects.

Mad scientists

As long as there has been science, there has been so called mad scientist. Very few of the mad scientists are of course actually mad, but because their brains works a little different they are seen this way. You see, a normal person who sees a cat and a mouse thinks: Oh, that cat will try to get that mouse; I wonder if it will catch it. A scientist however might think: Cats hunt mice, they always have, but if the cat and the mouse were to hang upside down from a metal plate, with magnets on their feet, would the cat still catch the mouse?

They laughed at me back at the institute, but who's laughing now, the fools. They will never understand the genius of an antigravity cat. But you understand, don't you Mr. Whiskers?

In my head, this is a valid question; I would really like to know! Does this make me mad also? Perhaps, but I don't care. Now I was going to link to the Wikipedia article about magnets, only to find that the article was vandalized. As usual, the wikipedia moderators quickly fixed the problem. Still, this is a Weekend Fun post, so I think it's best to link to the vandalized version. Can you spot it? Wikipedia - Magnet.

Beards

Lately, I see a lot more people with beards. I'm guessing, perhaps beards will become fashion again, not that it really ever are out of fashion... I don't really know anything about this, and it's not the point either.

There are many different types of beard out there, and typically some types are associated with some sort of stereotype. The illustration below shows many types of beard in order of trustworthiness. I'm sorry for the large image.

By the way: new / updated version of the site is coming very soon (to a browser near you)!
I'm perhaps 80% done, just going to remake the News section. Some cool changes.

Eit tips: det er morsomt å kombinere lydar også. Trenger ikkje vere berre ein om gangen.
Eg syns det er morsomt å legge This is Sparta! over forskjellige andre. Slår aldri feil.
