If you are located in Trondheim, and you are interested in snooker, I've got news for you. I'm trying to start up a small snooker club, and if you want to try snooker, this is a good chance.

I can still remember some of the first days in Trondheim. Before we had a couch, table or chairs. All we had was our office chairs, and a TV. But this is all you need to watch snooker. I had never seen it before, but it was the only interesting thing on TV, and my brother knew most of the rules. It was the Northern Ireland Trophy, and I remember Hendry lost the final, but I had to look up who he lost to; it was The Welsh Dragon Matthew Stevens.

It took some time before we tried playing it, but when we visited Dora for the first time, I was hooked. We played a great deal for two years, and several of our friends were forced to try snooker. Some even stayed with it. Now several years has gone by, and we are soon finished here in Trondheim, some will stay, but most will leave. This means I have to find new people to play snooker with, and the best way to do that: start a club.

Starting a snooker club is not a new idea, we actually discussed this many years ago. However, the idea never got any root back then. Now, I'm quite dedicated, and have already taken the first step: created a survey. The survey contains a couple of really quick questions, and is meant to give me an idea of how many people are interested, etc.

Anyone is welcome, but I'm going to be a little selective about who I tell at first. Putting a poster up at the University might give the club a lot of publicity; perhaps too much. It's better to start small, get a bearing, and take it from there. So I'm putting a poster up at Dora1, and will post about it on Facebook, since I know there are several people who are interested there.

Feel free to check out the web site, though there is not much happening there yet. Unless you are located close to Trondheim, there really is not much use in taking the survey, but I can't stop you either. Expect more news about this when the results are in.
